What is a
Renewal of Vows Ceremony?
A Renewal of
Vows ceremony is a way to reaffirm your wedding
vows to each other. It is a ceremony in which you
will once more agree to the vows you have made. We
offer a very simple, meaningful ceremony that not
only affirms and honours the commitment you have
shared, but expresses your dreams and aspirations
for the next part of your life together, or, with
Deborah's assistance, you can create a more
personalized service
When is a
Renewal of Vows appropriate?
Often couples
choose to renew their vows on milestone
anniversaries, such as the 10th, 25th, and so on.
This is a special way to honour the years that have
passed since the wedding while attesting that the
love that brought you together remains as vital and
strong as ever - or even more so.
Ceremonies of
Renewal are also appropriate when couples have
married without their loved ones' presence.
Instead, they may have eloped, had a very small
private service, or married out of town or country.
If they wish to celebrate their union with family
and friends who were not present at the wedding, a
Renewal ceremony makes that possible.
Finally, Renewal
ceremonies are appropriate anytime couples wish to
reaffirm their dedication to their marriage and
each other. They may have surmounted difficulties
such as marital problems, illness, or disaster.
Perhaps they have reached a milestone in their life
together - a special birthday, a new home or job,
the last of the children leaving home. A renewal of
commitment is a lovely way to open a new chapter of
your life as a couple.
What
does a Renewal of Vows Service consist
of?
Typically, the
service will include a welcome, readings, and vow
renewal. You may wish to exchange new rings or
rededicate your old ones. We have options to fit
your budget and plans.

You:
A simple and meaningful recommitment and
renewal ceremony in our garden or chapel. Includes
a beautiful commemorative certificate suitable for
framing. Cost: $75

2:
A Renewal with up to Eight Friends:
For
those landmark anniversaries and occasions, it is
fun to have your original witnesses and close
friends celebrate with you. This option allows the
inclusion of personalized elements such as a sand
ceremony or saying your own vows. We book a 30
minute reservation in our chapel or garden for your
celebration. Includes a beautiful commemorative
certificate suitable for framing. Cost: $125 (Sand
ceremony is an additional $25 if we are providing
the materials)

Offsite
Renewal
Sometimes
couples decide to rent a venue and hold a larger
celebration. Deborah is delighted to share in your
happy occasion and will work with you to
personalize the ceremony. Includes a beautiful
commemorative certificate suitable for framing. A
small travel charge may apply if the ceremony is
taking place outside the immediate Niagara Region.

by Horse and
Carriage
For
the height of romance, imagine renewing your vows
on a horse-drawn carriage ride! Enjoy the beauty of
the town, or stop by the riverside to have the
ceremony. You reserve the carriage and Deborah's
honorarium is $75. Call for details!
How
formal is a Renewal of Vows Ceremony?
As
formal as you like! Some couples elect to renew
vows in their own living room or backyard,with
guests dressed casually. Others choose a lavish
affair complete with caterers, tuxedos, gowns, and
an orchestra. Guests may be treated to a reception
afterward with champagne toasts, or a comfortable
barbeque with colas and beer. It's entirely up to
you.
